Ten ingenious ways to recycle a tea set

June 04, 2016

When surfing the net for some clever upcycled products to add to our online store, I came across a couple of suggestions from Intimate Weddings involving vintage tea cups and saucers. Call me old fashioned but I've always loved not just drinking out of dainty, hand-painted duos, but the whimsical look of indulgence, so any creative project involving repurposing or prolonging their life absolutely delights me. Here the first simple suggestion is conversion to cutesy herb planters - you can source the vintage garden markers from us online, while the second project is as a bird feeder.
Then I realised there were so many more ways to reuse and recycle these treasures.
A lolly candelabra as suggested by The Cottage Market makes for a magnificent party sweet treat irrespective of age, as does a gigantic wall clock!
Porcelain bracelets are unique, one-off embellishments. Plus Etsy artisan dishfunctionl designs makes enchanting necklaces from discarded fragments of china.
Gorgeous hand made candles which we have had success with at WHT HQ in our Wixen range, from the art in life.
Plus from creative whiz feather in my nest the ultimate reading lamp.
And another series of illuminations...from how to recycle.
And finally...the ultimate cake stand from www.cakestandheaven.com
It's still possible to find vintage tea cups and saucers for next to no cost at local charity shops or markets, so get crafting.
