Unique gifts for Mum deserve unique wrapping

April 30, 2015

Sometimes the wrapping can be almost as exciting as the Who'd Have Thought gift and that's definitely the case with Lia Griffith's paper creations. We're self-confessed feather freaks so this papery plumage hooked us instantly. All that is required to reproduce this slice of heaven is scissors, coloured paper - pages from discarded books make a stylish alternative, string and some quiet time to fuel your imagination. Actually imagination is superfluous because Lia's paper patterns are free to download by following the links on her website.
Paula Biggs from Frog Prince Paperie has created tutorials for making paper flowers - perfect because they won't turn whiffy and decompose after they've been around for more than one week!
But a big time favourite at Who'd Have Thought is the humble brown paper packaging, easily adorned by a bright sticker, designer ribbon, paper doilies (yes, there's a market there believe it or not) lace, vintage sheet music and old photographs...a hint of nostalgia is always a winner with Mothers.
Check out more suggestions here @ http://fleachic.blogspot.com.au. Of course the wrapping only impresses if there's a Who'd Have Thought gift inside!
