Garden designer Isabel Bannerman's incredible eye

June 30, 2016 1 Comment

We've fallen for Isabel Bannerman's incredible talent, not only as a garden designer but as a documenter of the wonders of nature. Since establishing a company in 1983 with husband Julian, the pair have implemented planting designs that take in built structures and the wider landscape feeling their passion for history and human intervention. Isabel has an uncanny eye for capturing and botanical layers naturally unpeeling somewhat like a floral strip show.
Zucchini flowers have never looked so good! These days everyone thinks they're a photographer but taking all our own images for our online store and only occasionally stunning ourselves with the outcome, has emphasised the rift between those who have it and those who dont'. We genuflect to anyone with Isabel's creativity and skill.
Believe me, it is not just a case of whipping out the black cardboard as a backdrop.
There's light, equipment, time of day, season and most importantly an innate sense of styling that simply can't be learnt.
We'd love to meet you Isabel, to say "Bravo" from the bottom of our...mushrooms.

hi there – i just found your website and thank you so much for being so complimentary about my work. I am working on a book at the moment about the sense of smell and plants and why they smell and hoping to use the images for that – so keep in touch and thanks again
best wishes
